FR_EKHO est née des idées novatrices d'un collectif d'artisans actifs dans la promotion de la lutherie et archèterie contemporaine.
Ces dernières années ont vu une évolution impressionnante de la qualité de la facture contemporaine. De plus en plus de musiciens, jusqu'au plus haut niveau, se rendent compte de l'intérêt de jouer sur ces instruments neufs. Par ailleurs, des études récentes ont montré que les instruments anciens n'avaient pas à eux-seuls le monopole de la qualité de son.
L'organisation d'événements visant à créer des liens entre musiciens, leurs instruments et les artisans qui les fabriquent a permis aux membres d'EKHO de comprendre l'importance de ces échanges. En effet, une meilleure connaissance du métier de chacun, artisan ou musicien, permet de faire progresser considérablement la qualité de la production et les exigences des musiciens. C'est pourquoi EKHO tente de valoriser ce dialogue au maximum.
EN_EKHO was conceived by makers as a new and innovative approach to the promotion of contemporary violin and bow making.
In recent years the evolution in the quality of contemporary instrument and bow making has been remarkable. More and more musicians of all levels are becoming aware of the merits of these new instruments.
Furthermore, recent studies have shown that old instruments do not have a monopoly of sound quality.
Over several years, the organisation of events aiming to connect musicians, their instruments and makers has led members of EKHO to appreciate the importance of the exchange of ideas. A better understanding of the related crafts of maker and musician has brought considerable progress in the quality of instrument making in relation to the demands of musicians.
For this reason, EKHO seeks to encourage this dialogue to a maximum.
